Oxegen began in 2004 and received the Best European Festival Award in 2008. By 2009 the festival was cited as the greenest festival, being a 100% carbon neutral event.
The four day event takes place at the Punchestown Racecourse in Ireland. Oxegen is generally regarded as Ireland's version of the world-renowned Glastonbury Festival with around 80,000 people camping on-site over the weekend.
As well as the current eight stages of music, there are three large areas for camping. There are also 2 funfairs onsite alongside other campsite entertainment such as a circus, silent disco and the tribute stage.
